When shopping at the grocery store you sometimes get more than what you are looking for. Preservatives and chemicals, such as pesticides and herbicides, are part of the normal process of vegetables and fruits that are grown and sold to local grocery stores. Besides the known chemicals that encounter the produce, there is also the risk of contamination that can occur at the farm, at the manufacturing plant, or during the transportation from the plant to the grocery stores. Everyone knows diet is essential in maintaining one’s health, yet one third of our nation is overweight or obese. This is a serious issue and eating healthy foods should be begun early and maintained.
The first step is for families to educate themselves on nutrition and diet. If you cannot afford a consultation with a nutritionist, read magazines or online diet and health articles. No one who lives in a functioning body can deny that there is relationship between the body and the mind they have to live with. When the body is in distress, the mind is also in distress, and both parts tell their person all about how they are feeling. The body sends its messages in the form of pain, and the mind sends its messages in the form of anxiety or paranoia.
